Introduction
Udri is a Village in Sorab Taluk in Shimoga District of Karnataka State, India. There is another Shiva temple which was almost in ruins, giving it a very rustic look. Here the primary deity is lord shiva in the form of lingam, this temple is under the control of ASI. The carvings on the temple were much more intricate and detailed, suggesting that this could have been built much later years. There was another temple dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra and had been completely renovated. The life-size idols of Shaiva Dwarapalakas present here were truly a masterpiece of art. There were also a few unique hero stones around this temple in which the images of heroes were similar to aliens. Nandithevar’s face is disfigured and he is sitting in the clearing opposite the compound wall of the temple. Two Nandi statues are found there. This ruins shiva temple is near to the Lord Lakshmi Naraimha temple.
