Introduction
one km from Kuthalam to Mayiladuthurai, the road to Komal on the right divides into two. Thozhuthalangudi is located at a distance of 2 km from the bridge over the Manjalaru. The manjal river, which flows from west to east towards the city, returns to the north without dividing it. It is special to go around the city as a healer towards the east. The temple faces east, however, the gate to the temple is to the west. # “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
Puranic Significance
Umadevi is born as a cow in the world by the curse of Lord Shiva in one of the festivals of Lord Shiva. Accompanying him is his brother Thirumal. Umayyad wandered like a cow in many places to get rid of the curse and worshiped Eesan. During this time, the town was called Tholatha-Alangudi because of the worship of the Lord under the palm tree. The Lord is called Abhimuktiswarar here but he is facing east here. Ambika brings him to the left and he also looks towards the east. so Ambika will fulfill our wedding wishes with ease. There are separate shrines to Ganesha Murugan Lakshmi in Prakaram. In the sanctum sanctorum are Tenmugan and Durga. No new planets. There is a beautiful pond in front of the temple. Renovations are being carried out by local people after many years. Swaminatha Iyer, a retired teacher, is leading the work. But the turnaround has stalled since he died.
