Santan Saptami Pooja
As per the Hindu calendar, the observance of Santan Saptami fasting takes place on the seventh day of the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) in the month of Bhadrapada. This ritual is undertaken with the aspiration for offspring’s well-being, longevity, joy, prosperity, and good health. During the Saptami fast, devotees worship Goddess Parvati alongside Lord Shiva. A designated area is prepared on the ground, often in the form of a square or chalk, where the idols of Lord Shankar and Goddess Parvati are positioned on a raised platform. A ceremonial pot, adorned with a coconut and mango leaves, is arranged, and an arti plate is readied with a lamp placed before the deities. Seven sweet pooris, enclosed in banana leaves, are arranged in the worship area. Both parents, the mother and the father, can observe this fast.
